first_imgCharlotte and Ivy Mbuli from Killygordon at the North West 10kregistration office with the Mayor of Letterkenny Municipal DistrictCllr Michael McBride who will get the walkers underway for Sunday’scharity event.Registrations for Sunday’s North West 10K are coming thick and fast as those looking to get their hands on the famous t-shirts get their names down early.Registrations will continue on this evening from 5 – 6.30pm, Friday, for Sunday’s big North West Charity Run & Walk in Letterkenny which again is sponsored by Donegal Daily and Brian McCormick Sports.The 10k committee is asking as many runners and walkers as possible to pre-enter with huge numbers again expected to take part in an event that has raised nearly €700,000 for 30 charities since it started in 1997. Registrations will also be taken tomorrow afternoon from 3 – 6 p.m.This woman signed up early to get her hands on the famous NW10K t-shirt!The four charities who will benefit from this year’s event are the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Donegal Down Syndrome Association, Blood Bike North West and the Donegal Youth Service.There will be a limited amount of traffic restrictions in place on Sunday from lunchtime to facilitate the charity event.The organising committee is asking motorists to obey the directions of the Gardai and stewards. Expect some delays but remember that this is a charity event for four very worthy causes. The President of the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce Brian McCormick will have the starter’s gun for the runners who will set off from McGinley Motors on the Pearse Road.Walkers are asked to note that their starting line will be down on the left hand side of the Letterkenny Community Centre Car Park near the Clubhouse.The Mayor of the Letterkenny Municipal District Cllr Michael McBride will get the walkers underway.The North West Charity 10k Run and Walk will start at 2 p.m. sharp on Sunday.
