Roberto Gagliardini (Atalanta, pictured on loan at Inter Milan) – click the arrow above, right, to see five other Italian players Conte should consider this summer – Reports suggest Conte is keen to bring in another defensive midfielder and Gagliardini could be well worth considering. The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Inter, a move that was viewed as something as a gamble. Hes still fresh to the senior stage having failed to make much of an impact at parent club Atalanta, but his stock has risen at the San Siro. He could thrive under the guidance of Conte. 5 Andrea Belotti (Torino) – Belotti stepped into the spotlight in style last season, finishing with only three goals (26) less than Golden Boot winner Edin Dzeko (29). It was the 23-year-olds most prolific campaign and, understandably, hes attracted quite a bit of interest in the market. With Conte wanting to move on from Diego Costa, hes on the hunt for a new centre forward. Still yet to reach his peak, Belotti could be worth every penny of whats expected to be a hefty fee, should he depart Torino. Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus) – At the age of 30, Bonucci isnt a signing Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, will be particularly fond of. But with John Terry, the last of the club’s old guard, leaving this summer, Conte will be keen to add experience to his squad. The Italy international fits the bill, not to mention hes still widely considered one of the best centre backs in Europe. 5 5 It’s only natural that a manager expresses loyalty to bringing through players from his own country.Arsene Wenger, for example, has regularly turned to the best talent in France, from Thierry Henry to Laurent Koscielny, and a similar pattern in recruitment could follow at Chelsea.Juventus and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci was a top target for Antonio Conte last summer, and again speculation suggests his interest remains. So, along with Bonucci, which Italian players should Conte consider a move for in this summer’s transfer window?Scroll through the gallery above to see who has made our top five. Andrea Conti (Atalanta) – Chelsea have been linked with Conti over the past couple of months, but AC Milan are understood to be leading the chase. With more fixtures to be added to Chelseas calendar, Conte seems to be particularly keen on bringing in extra competition in the full-back positions. The Atalanta right-back could provide excellent rivalry for a place to Victor Moses. He scored eight and assisted five in Serie A last term, and his attacking threat could be key to high interest in his signature. 5 5 Marco Verratti (Paris Saint-Germain) – There arent many superior midfielders to Verratti. Hes considered the heir to Andres Iniestas throne at Barcelona, but Paris Saint-Germain are standing firm in blocking any move to the Camp Nou. Perhaps this is the summer for Chelsea to cement interest in a player who would walk into the Premier League champions team.
