Clearing up errors about pump station

first_imgThe Oct. 20, article [“New Schenectady pump station plan unveiled”] about the revised design and location of the new pump station in Riverside Park included a couple of statements that need clarification.First, the new design features rectangular windows, not arched ones as stated in the article. The state Historic Preservation Office worked with the consultants to design a new building that will look distinct from the existing station with its arched windows.Second, the original proposed location was not at a higher elevation. It would have taken up a large portion of the west side of the park, all of which is at the same elevation. The new design will take a much smaller portion of the park and leave the west side intact.Suzanne UngerSchenectadyThe writer is the recording secretary for the Stockade Association.More from The Daily Gazette:Anderson starts, but Dodgers finish off NLCS winSchenectady, Saratoga casinos say reopening has gone well; revenue down 30%Motorcyclist injured in Thursday afternoon Schenectady crashSchenectady police reform sessions pivot to onlineSchenectady NAACP calls for school layoff freeze, reinstatement of positions Categories: Letters to the Editor, OpinionClearing up errors about pump stationlast_img read more
